Thanks to You, Our Cause is Gaining Attention!
Who says you can't make a difference?  Thanks to the support of all of you, the City of Miami is turning their ears -
and their eyes - to Biscayne Boulevard and the pending tree ordinance.

Interim Commissioner Agrees to Meet with SavePalms
Interim Commissioner Haskins has reviewed our petition and has agreed to meet with SavePalms.   A meeting date
has not yet been confirmed, but we will keep you posted.  This would be our second meeting with City Hall.  Her office
has also acknowledged the conflict within the still pending tree ordinance (palms are not trees, and other tree
protection issues).

Miami Sun Post Coverage
An initial inquiry regarding the still pending tree ordinance has lead to a regained interest in the loss of Biscayne
Boulevard's decades-old historic landscape. Keep your eyes out for upcoming issues.

MiMo Historic District Approved - Now on to the Missing Landscape
Biscayne Boulevard, through the Upper Eastside section of town, has been granted historic status.  Miami's unique
1950s architecture is now protected from demolition in this area (similar to the steps taken in Miami Beach with
creation of the Art Deco Historic District in the 1980s).  SavePalms hopes that the boulevard's historic landscape can
rejoice in the area's renaissance.

Website Update - Before and After Pics
Our website has been updated with before and after pics.  If you have not visited the boulevard (or our website) in
some time, please take a look for yourself.  In our opinion, the boulevard's landscape has been moved under false
pretense.
Seeing is believing.

Continued Support - Sign Our Guest Book, Spread the Word
We have made great strides since February 2006.  It appears, however, that some may be working toward
discrediting our cause.  We represent you - please take a moment to review and sign our updated guest book. Also,
please pass our website on to others (local or not) who may be interested in supporting this hometown effort.  Visit
our
guest book.

As always, thank you for your continued support!  We are your voice, you are ours.
